War Anxiety 

I was recently asked by a national newspaper to comment on war anxiety and what people can do to manage it……

"War anxiety for those actually involved in war is very different to war anxiety for people, for example, living in the UK. For those living in the UK the anxiety is based on fear that is perpetrated by what they see and hear from media sources - it is not based on actual experience of war itself. For this reason, is based on irrational thoughts that are fed by news stories and images that create negative experiences in the mind - it is not based on real events they are actually experiencing. Therefore, for those experiencing this it is advised to refrain from following the war via the media stories".
